How Students Use Learning Analytics Dashboards in Higher Education: A Learning Performance Perspective

Developed to maximize learning performance, analytics dashboards (LAD) are becoming increasingly commonplace in education. An LAD’s effectiveness depends on how it is used and varies according users’ academic levels. In this study, two LADs a support system were higher education course students’ cognitive self-regulated (SRL) strategies. A total of 54 logs three systems their performance scores collected; descriptive statistics behaviors, Mann-Whitney U test, lag sequential analysis explore students with different performances learning. Compared low-performers, high-performers the more frequently during preview review phases conducted monitoring reflection strategies Finally, some practical implications for improving design use provided.
